Engaging our kids during this crisis is important - to assure and make them emotionally strong
Engaging our kids during the lockdown period is one of the challenges for the parents, especially if one or both have to work from home. All the news update we watch, the phone talk with friends and chat with neighbours about the COVID19, should make them be aware of the situation, stay alert and safe, but not fear.
It is important to engage them to be emotionally strong and encourage them to boost confidence.Â
How it is different from the usual?Â
While the adults are showing changes in behaviour to adapt to the current situation, the kids watch them doing and they have to follow all the safety instructions/precautions as well, like, washing hands more frequently, not touch the face etc.
I feel the only place they can sit continuously for some time is at school. Now, at the age of 7, in case of my daughter, she is supposed to attend school virtually and perform the same activities at home sitting in the same desk where she used to do homework, in a more relaxed way.
While it brings them new exposure and essential, it is our duty to educate our kids on happenings and give assurance that it is a temporary phenomenon
kids are not used to it. They want to kill the boredom.Â
As an adult I cannot sit in a place continuously and need a coffee break, some stretches, chats and smartphone swipes etc.Â
Kids they simply watch us, look upon us and they miss their class friends too.

For a change we turned our home into a photo studio and did some photoshoot as in the cover picture. she was more excited to dress up and try different postures.
Video calling with their class friends is a good choice to bring some interaction and share their experiences.
There are lot more creative ways to engage your kids during this situation,
